Coupons – Definition: Coupons are a form of tender to reduce an order total based on merchandise purchased. Retailers are not required by law to accept manufacturers’ coupon. Coupons can be in print and/or in electronic form, and may be integrated into the register systems where they are deducted automatically when all purchase requirements are met.
General Coupon Acceptance Guidelines
Coupons are accepted in accordance to the stated requirements on the coupon at the time of purchase. These requirements include, but are not limited to: product type, flavor(s), size(s), quantities and minimum/maximum dollar purchase limits.
Coupons are intended for one time use and cannot be redeemed more than once.
Coupons have no cash value.
Albertsons only accepts original coupons and does not accept photocopied or reproduced coupons (including multiple prints of same series internet coupons).
Albertsons does not accept expired coupons. Printed expiration dates are verified in addition to scanning the coupon for validity.
Coupons stating “on next/future purchase or visit” cannot be used in the transaction in which they are generated. Next purchase is defined as a separate transaction.
The coupon redemption value on ‘Free’ coupons may not exceed the value of the item.
Albertsons will accept ONE manufacturer coupon and ONE store coupon on the same qualifying item. (Twice the Value coupons are considered a store coupon.)
Albertsons does not accept competitor coupons. (Coupons generated by any competitor with competitor logo are considered competitor coupons.)
All applicable sales taxes are paid by the customer at the full value of the item.
Albertsons reserves the right to refuse any coupons at its discretion.
Manufacturer Coupons
Coupons issued by manufacturers contain redemption guidelines including, but not limited to: “terms of agreement”, “face value”, “expiration date” and the verbiage “manufacturer coupon”. Albertsons adheres to all manufacturer redemption guidelines.
Albertsons may issue private promotion “manufacturer coupons” in advertisements that state “redeemable only at Albertsons” in which Albertsons is the only retailer that will accept.
Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will have the remaining amount applied to the balance of the transaction. In the event a transaction balance results in a “credit”, additional items WILL be added/suggested to the order to utilize the remaining value of the coupon. We will not provide any “cash back” on coupons; however we will provide full redemption value.
Albertsons accepts internet generated manufacturer coupons that have the following conditions:
Coupons must scan at checkout.
Coupons must have serial numbers and follow an industry-standard format.
Coupons must clearly indicate that they are a manufacturer coupon and have a valid manufacture address on the printed coupon.
Albertsons does not accept internet generated manufacturer coupons that have the following conditions:
FREE product without a required purchase.
A redemption value that exceeds $5.00.
The absence of a clear and scannable UPC bar code.
Same serial numbers (internet sites print time & date stamps on coupons and limit the number of coupons that can be printed from same computer).
The absence of a valid manufacturer address on the printed coupon.
Albertsons offers of Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) promotions in their weekly advertisement can be combined with Buy One, Get One Free manufacturer coupons to result in BOTH items being Free. The items in the manufacturer coupon must exactly match our weekly advertisement offers and meet the redemption criteria.
Store Coupons & Promotions
Rain checks for store coupons will be given out as long as the store coupon does not state on it “while supplies last”.
Coupons issued by Albertsons contain redemption guidelines including, but not limited to: “terms of agreement”, “face value”, “expiration date” and the verbiage “store coupon”.
Albertsons offers store coupons in various forms of media including, but not limited to, print, electronic, newspaper, direct mailers, kiosks and Company websites.
Albertsons may issue “store coupons” in advertisements that state “redeemable only at Albertsons” in which Albertsons is the only retailer that will accept.
Store coupons may require that the discount applies only with Preferred/Loyalty/Rewards Card use.
Twice the Value store coupons can only be used in combination with a $1.00 or less manufacturer coupon (a printed face value of $1.01 or greater cannot be combined with Twice the Value store coupons).
Albertsons DOES allow manufacturer coupons that state they cannot be ‘doubled’ to be used in conjunction with a Twice the Value store coupon.
Market Basket coupons can be provided via US mail or email for loyalty, special events, or local relevance. Can be used in transactions where all/many items have manufacturer coupon since it is for total purchase. These may be “stackable” according to guidance in ad/redemption guidelines. Must meet minimum purchase requirement after all other valid coupon redemptions and customer card discounts. The store Point Of Sale system is programmed to limit or restrict coupons in accordance with the redemption guidelines.
Catalina Checkout Coupons/Rebates
Catalina is a third party vendor that partners with vendors and Albertsons to offer both manufacturer coupons and Albertsons in-store coupons. The coupons are triggered by purchasing qualified items at checkout which generate a coupon to print on the Catalina printer.
Albertsons delivers 3 types of coupons via Catalina:
Manufacturer “cents off” – common type frequently distributed
Store Coupon – clearly states “store coupon” in title (cannot be combined with Twice The Value)
Market Basket – earned from prior purchase and not associated with an item, but rather the purchase. Can be used in transactions where all/many items have manufacturer coupon since it is for total purchase. These may be “stackable” according to guidance in ad/redemption guidelines. Minimum purchase requirements must be met after all other valid coupon redemptions and customer card discounts. The store Point Of Sale system is programmed to limit or restrict coupons in accordance with the redemption guidelines.
It is Albertsons’ policy that these coupons are to be used in a future purchase, not within the purchase in which they are generated. (“next purchase” is defined as a separate transaction)
Catalina coupons are provided to the intended customer based on that particular customers shopping experience or purchase, therefore, such coupons are non-transferable. If a customer does not want the issued Catalina coupons, it is Albertsons’ policy that the cashier or store associate destroys them immediately, including any Catalina coupons delivered at the Self Check Out lanes.
The Total Shopping Experience
In an effort to serve our all customers better than our competitors, and provide a timely checkout, Albertsons requests that customers do not exceed three (3) consecutive transactions.
Additional lanes will be opened to serve all customers in a timely manner if the current business and staffing level permits.

ACME Fresh Market Coupon Policy; Coupons are a great way to save even more money when shopping at Acme Fresh Market!
General Coupon Policy:
Original manufacturer coupons/internet prints only . . .photo copies will not be accepted.
Size, description of item must match coupon description.
There is no limit to the number of coupons per transaction.
Only one coupon per item.
Coupons need to be used before the expiration date.
Acme reserves the right to refuse any coupon for any reason.
Manufacturer Coupons:
Identified with the words “Manufacturer’s Coupon”.
Maximum coupon value is the price of item(s) purchased.
Print at Home Internet Coupons:
Maximum redemption value of $5.00
Must scan and be legible
“Free” items excluded; including Buy One Get One Free offers
Acme Checkout/Catalina Coupons:
Only checkout/Catalina coupons that say “Store Coupon Redeemable at Acme Fresh Market” will be accepted.
Acme Store Coupons:
Only store coupons that have an Acme Fresh Market logo will be accepted unless otherwise authorized by an Acme department such as “BAKERY”.

Manufacturer’s Coupons:
Must state “Manufacturer’s coupon”, “Military Coupon”, or “Military Store Coupon”.
We do not accept “Commissary Only” Coupons.
Item purchased must be identical to the coupon’s description.
Require a valid remit address, expiration date, and scannable bar code.
Can be combined with the Exchange “We Price Match” policy and one Exchange store coupon,for example: Facebook, Sales Tabloid, Coupon Book, unless prohibited by either coupon.
One manufacturer coupon per item including cents off or BOGO coupons
One Exchange store coupon may be applied to a manufacturer’s BOGO coupon unless either coupon prohibits.
Cannot exceed the value of the item. The Exchange will not provide cash back nor apply the remaining balance to other items in the purchase.
Will accept “free item” manufacturer’s original coupon.
Will be accepted on sale and clearance items unless prohibited by coupon.
Must be an original coupon, no photocopies.
Military Only or Military Store Coupons for tobacco are prohibited by the DOD and will not be accepted at Exchange locations.
We currently accept manufacturer coupons in OCONUS locations, not to exceed six months past expiration date.
Internet (print-at-home) Manufacturer Coupons:
Item purchased must be identical to the coupons description.
Requires a clear description, valid remit address, expiration date, and scannable bar code.
One internet coupon per item. Cannot be combined with a manufacturer’s coupon but can be combined with one Exchange store coupon unless prohibited by any coupon.
Can be color or black and white.
We do not accept Internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.
Does not apply to Exchange Facebook coupons (see Exchange Facebook coupons policy below).
Exchange Facebook Coupons:
This is an Exchange Store Coupon, not a manufacturer’s coupon.
Valid only at the Exchange.
Selection varies by location.
Limited to stock on hand.
Limit one Exchange Coupon per product purchased.
May be combined with one manufacturer’s coupon unless prohibited by either coupon.
Valid at all Exchange locations (including overseas locations) only until expiration date listed on the coupon.
Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) Coupons:
Manufacturer’s BOGO coupons are accepted with a valid remit address, expiration date, and scannable bar code.
BOGO coupons cannot be stacked with either additional BOGO Coupons or other cents off manufacturer coupons on the same items. Multiple BOGO coupons may be used when purchasing additional BOGO merchandise unless prohibited by coupon.
Competitor’s BOGO coupons must provide specific price in order to determine the value of each item. Competitors BOGO coupons are calculated in the” We Price Match” policy and will not be taken in addition to a We Price Match price adjustment.
If an Exchange BOGO coupon is utilized, one additional cents off manufacturer coupon may be applied to the first item unless prohibited by either coupon.
If a Manufacturer’s BOGO coupon is utilized, one additional cents off Exchange coupon may be applied to the first item unless prohibited by either coupon.
Local Competitors Coupons:
Local Competitors coupons to include BOGO store coupons are part of our We Price Match policy and will be used to calculate the competitors “out the door” price before tax.
The coupon must be from a local competitor and state a specific price and provide a date indicating it is a current promotion.
A Buy One Get One coupon must provide a specific price as noted in BOGO coupon policy.
One manufacturer’s and one Exchange coupon may be applied after the final sales price is determined unless either coupon prohibits.
Coupon policy when combining with the Exchange “We Price Match” policy:
The “We Price Match “price adjustment will be the first discount applied to an item.
One manufacturer and one Exchange coupon may then be applied to the item unless prohibited by either coupon.
A manufacturer’s coupon that states, “cannot be combined with any other offer”, may be used in conjunction with a price match but cannot be combined with an Exchange or other manufacturer coupon.

A&P Coupon Policy; All coupons must be presented to the sales associate before the start of the order.
The exact item featured on the coupon must be purchased, no substitutions are allowed.
Any coupon that has expired will not be accepted.
The total redemption may not exceed the retail value of the item.
Competitor coupons will not be accepted. This includes both Competitor Internet and Catalina coupons.
Stores honoring double coupons will do so in accordance with our normal Double Coupon Policy.
Exception to our Double Coupon Policy:
A Limit of four(4) like coupons will be doubled, unless otherwise stated on the coupon “ Do Not Double/Triple/Multiply or Redeemable at Face Value Only” or words of similar meaning.
Coupon Usage:
One manufacturer coupon and one store coupon can be redeemed on a single item, however the total redemption cannot exceed the retail value of the item.
Manufacturer Coupons:
We do offer double coupons in many of our stores. Guidelines and amounts vary by location. Please check with your local store for details.
Only 1 manufacturer coupon may be applied to an individual item.
Only 4 like manufacturer coupons are allowed per transaction.
Internet (Online) Printed Coupons:
Only 2 like internet (online) coupons are allowed per transaction.
Coupons for FREE Items are NOT accepted unless the purchase of an additional item is required (i.e. Buy one get one free).
Coupons with a value of $5.00 or more will NOT be accepted.
Online Clip-less Coupons which are loaded to the Club Card do not double or triple.
Proctor and Gamble Internet coupons are not accepted.
We gladly accept all internet (online) coupons from our website and all internet (online) coupons distributed via our corporate e-mail marketing campaigns.
The Return of an item purchased with a coupon:
Any customer requesting a refund/store credit for an item purchased with a coupon will be issued the purchase price after the deduction of the coupon. The full price of the item will not be refunded nor will the coupon be returned.
Store Management reserves the right to reject, in its discretion, any coupons that appear to have been altered, copied, or exhibit signs of misrepresentation/not being used according to the intended purpose.
Customer accepts and agrees to these policies when using any coupons.
